So there is no terrorism directly attributed to Christianity? I alright. The problem is with fundamentalists, not members of any particular religion.
We've got the religious nuts on one side and the hang em n burn em nobs on t'other side . I'd say us normal folk are fecked .UNLESS!!!!!
Here you go Richietyke, this answers your question, taken from The Newsroom: ' Here are some things done on American soil in the name of Christianity. The Ku Klux Klan burned down black churches, raped women, murdered civil rights workers, murdered children and terrorized communities for over a century. The Neo Nazis all acted and continue to act in the name of white Christian supremacy. The Army of God fatally attacks abortion clinics and doctors across the country. The Covenant, the Sword and the Arm of the Lord targets local police and federal agents. The federal building in Oklahoma City. The attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan and the successful assassinations of Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, John Lennon, and Abraham Lincoln, all perpetrated by Christians. Miss Greer, we weren't attacked by Muslims, we were attacked by sociopaths, and I for one would join you in protesting a community center for the criminally insane, but no one is suggesting building one.'
This is my opinion and no matter what anyone else thinks , that's how I feel. The Muslims are bad news . Simple as that. Say what you want about me it won't change my opinion . My brother died fighting for this country .
A poor lad has been butchered by fanatics and they win if all we get is Muslim bashing and condemnation of people for being politically correct. I think this is a particularly worrying development in terror attacks in this country but also demonstrates the success of our anti-terroristic efforts. We are foiling big attacks and bombings ( although they are always bound to happen somewhere) so the fanatics target an individual and with maximum horror. Before you start calling for "them all to be gassed" etc. just consider this: there are thousands more Muslims murdered by these fanatics than any other religion. Was the lad a muslim? Probably not but he could have been. Also, There are 600 or so Muslims in the British Army fighting for their country and for us against this terror.
Well in the eyes of some people on here mate when that White gang murdered Stephen Lawrence obviously means that every White person is racist!..unfortunately we have extremist in every culture,
I don't have an issue with any of that. I'm not a Christian and those examples are probably all true, but the scale of violence committed by Islamic fundamentalists is truly staggering by comparison. There is a problem with Islam. If I could try to explain without writing a thesis. Most religions are heresay. They are a matter of faith, usually in a book nobody knows who actually wrote it, nor exactly how long ago. It's some dusty old scroll, or bible handed down by word of mouth or repeated translation over the centuries. As such MOST people accept that they don't have to stone adulterers or not covet their neighbours wife as they apply at least some common sense in as much as their faith is the same but in a modern context. They cherry pick the scriptures, if you like. Does it matter if you truly believe in the Virgin birth if you are a Christian or is it more important that you follow the teachings of Jesus? Similarly for Judaism, do you have to believe that the world was created in 6 days as it says in Genesis or is it more important that thou doest not steal? Muslims, on the other hand, don't have the same faith choices others have. You see the thing is the Kuran was written By Mohammed. This chap existed, no doubts at all, he has a tomb in Saudi Arabia. Now by all accounts he didn't make it up. It is the word of Allah as told to Mohammed by Allah himself. Word for Word. Chapter for chapter. You don't cherry pick. You don't choose the bits you like, you learn it all and whether you are a Jihadist fighting for Saladin against the Crusaders in 1182 or a Muslim living in modern times the words are the same, the message is the same and the Jihad is the same. You don't argue with Allah. It is his will. Now if you don't think this is problematic and bears comparison with other faiths, fair enough. Don't say you weren't warned.
