Seen it with my own eyes mate. 10 to a house working for peanuts and they don't even spend it here so we suffer even more. Now I'm no racist but it is best they went back to their own country while we deal with ours. I do not like Britain first they are a lunatic racist Christian group I've no issues with Muslims it's the Eastern Europeans taking our jobs but the pc culture won't let you say it.

 

I got laid off from a job in wetherby for exactly this. Site manager said I could keep my job if I matched their wages, this wasn't economically viable for me due to overheads the 3 Lithuanian lads didn't have so I was replaced by one of their pals by the end of the week. There were 5 of them sharing a subsidised house in heading ly so I just couldn't compete. If people don't think this happens on sites up and down the country then they need to pull their head out of the sand

 

How do they manage to live then if they don't spend any money here? I'm sure they must be using local shops.

I had another similar conversation with an "I'm not a racist but" bloke just last week who was telling me all these immigrants are taking our council houses and benefits.

Now which one is it, sleeping 10 to a house and nicking jobs from healthy, intelligent, committed lads who speak the language, have excellent social skills and reliability or nicking the council housing and benefits?

If a bloke who lives here has the desire to work can graft, can apply himself, who can use all the connections he has from living in the country, knows how the system works loses his job to a layabout work shy good for nothing immigrant (not my words) then summat is wrong. But that's not happening is it.

 

I'll be honest if I went for a job and a bloke who could barely speak English beat me to the job I'd question my own educational skills,

 

I'm still confused about how you can't compete with them.

Why is it that everyone else in barnsley is seemingly unable to survive on low wages unless they are polish and living 10 to a house and paying one rent (the houses that certain posters are unable to identify when asked) but I am able to survive? Am I done kind of miracle?


Facts:
I have minimum wage job (there or there abouts).
I am single and live alone (surprise surprise)
I own (mortgaged) a house worth roughly 100 grand in a decent area
I'm currently sat watching sky TV
I have a Barnsley season ticket
I have a car
I put money away every week for savings.
I have no debt (other than my mortgage)
I live a lifestyle that I would describe as comfortable. If I need or want something I go out and buy it.

Now why is it that I'm able to do this but other people on the same wages as me tell me this is impossible and unless you are polish illegally living 10 to a house in hermit conditions then you simply can't compete for low paid jobs due to living costs?

Genuine question. Why am I able to afford it when nobody else is? I am claiming zero benefits, I haven't inherited a load of money. I work hard in a tough job, I earn my money and live comfortably. Now why the hell can I do this but nobody else can compete with the illegally living polish?

The key to that is your single.
People have to live from your pay rate and bring a up a family.
Plus the fact you have a start by not always being on minimum wage I assume ,
Some people have to try and have a life solely on minimum wage.
I totally agree with you it's got nothing to do with immigrants driving down wages .
It's solely down to greedy bosses maximising their profits.
But with a race to the bottom mentality adopted by a large proportion of the country aided by out of touch politicians and a vindictive media that's how it's gonna be perceived unfortunately.
