That was a surprisingly excellent post. Plus, if you shack up with someone of an indeterminate sexual persuasion of your choice, things will be even better. You'll be sharing the bills. Even if you then go on to adopt, or even have children of your own by natural means, you will find that there are numerous work allowances and Government credits to assist. You will continue to enjoy life! (subject to performances down the Well ovo....)
No but the child benefits do. Fact: a bloke at my work (single father) reduced his hours from 40 to 30 and is now financially better off because the benefits he receives . He continually refuses overtime because he is financially better off sat at home. Fact 2: At my previous employer I was mocked regularly by another part timer who had kids because he was doing 20 hours a week and I was doing 40 yet guess who was financially better off? Good guess. Anyway to be honest my post wasn't about families, it was about other single people. I work with a couple of single people who claim it is impossible to move from their parents due to the cost. They are on identical wages to me. Again why can I afford it yet they can't? Another who is in constant debt is a bloke who lives with his girlfriend. Both of them work. Both are hugely in debt. The reason? Apparently it's impossible to live on low wages. Low wages? PS, I've always been on or around minimum wage, I I wasn't once in a high wage job which afforded me a lot of money to put aside. Everything I have I've worked bloody hard for.
Just to clarify I'm straight, in case anyone was wondering. Not that that matters or per but I just thought I'd put it out there. The only man I'd have eyes for would be a certain leotard wearing bbser. But you're completely right, the reason I mentioned being single was to demonstrate that it is one person paying all the bills, not two. I've had a little chuckle that dandanbarnsleyman has spent this entire thread complaining that the immigrants are living with several people in a house making it cheaper for them. As soon as I mention living on my own he reckons that's cheaper too.
I'm not disputing that you haven't . In fact can't see anywhere I've condemned your lifestyle. Just the bit where you start indicating that your happy with your lot and everyone else should be also.
I really don't. As I said, my life is comfortable. Sure I'd like a bit more money but you work with what you've got don't you
To be perfectly honest I couldn't care less what yacht he owns. Growing up I was taught to concentrate on what I have not what someone else has. The way I see it is that if I go to skeggy for a week's holiday I don't enjoy it any less because somebody else is in Spain. Why? Because I'm concentrating on my holiday not theirs. I've never been on holiday to skeggy actually, I'm not sure why I used that terrible example.
Well I thought that was too obvious tbh. Everyone knows two wages are better than one that's why I thought surely that's not your point .
Course you do and that's why Philip Greene and others like him thrive . Oh I'll take super tykes pension and keep his wages down and buy s great fekin yacht ,hell not say owt he's a good lad.
Not wanting to blur the lines between having a discussion and being a nosey get, but how do you manage to pay for a house and run a car on a wage close to the minimum? Tell me to mind my own if that's too personal.
Not too personal at all. I would answer but I can't. I can't because it just seems normal to me and while some people don't see how I can do it, I don't understand how others can't.
I run a DJ company. Pay a lot of tax & travel the UK, & Europe. Most weeks I probably work 70-80 hours, a lot of it travel, but most of them are OK. I enjoy it & I make a lot of money & pay taxes, Sick of people lecturing people about work on here ... it ain't always so easy ... it sounds to me like like Norman Tebbit telling people to get on their bike. Anyone that says being a socialist is about punishing hard work is talking utter ******. Being a socialist means rewarding hard work & supporting the needy.
