Had a great afternoon. Jack Lisowski looked very assured, think he might get past Robertson tomorrow.
Only the 8th guy to do it. All the more impressive in a high pressure situation of a close match nearing the end.
Well-predicted, Helen! I think that was the match of the tournament so far. They've talked about Lisowski's talent for years but he hasn't seemed to close tournaments out up to now. But what was particularly impressive was how he held his nerve when Neil Robertson mounted the most awesome of comebacks - including the max. His match-up with Higgins, and Yan Bingtao's with Williams will be very interesting contests. My pre-tournament bets (Selby and Robbo) have now fallen by the wayside, but I added Williams at 10/1 even after he went 7-1 up in his second round match. Can't say I'm overly confident though, with such a strong Quarter Final lineup. It's been a great tournament and there are five previous winners in the last eight, with 15 titles between them!
Obviously working with Peter Ebdon is helping him. I hope he and Bintgao do get through, it'll be good to have some different names in the semis !
I think Ronnie will get past Maguire if he turns up and doesn't have a daft session. As an O'Sullivan fan I'd rather Lisowski did Higgins because I don't think Ronnie has the fight to get past Higgins.
Robertson continues his dire Crucible record. A player of his quality should have a much better record at the premier event. Three of the quarter finals have in someone who's not won it before. New name on the trophy still looks on.
From a watching point of view, it’d be great to see a Williams v O’Sullivan final. If they are both on top form, what a game it would be !! However, my money is on Higgins to get to or win the final.
Was it only a couple of years ago that he was far and away the best form player ? He’s barely in top ten at moment based on this season and how he’s played so far. You know what’ll happen now …..
So it's the 'Class of '92' plus Judd! And I think it's taken somewhere near their best form and all those years of experience for Williams and Higgins to beat Bingtao and Lisowski. The latter two must surely go close to winning this tournament in the next few years. They have been awesome against their more seasoned opponents. None of this four would be a surprise to emerge as winner. I marginally prefer Williams and Ronnie to win through to the Final. Ron seems in a good place and Williams is such a chilled dude and so cool under pressure that he's made for these long matches.
I don't like Trump and I'm not overly keen on Higgins so that will be the final. Anything that could prevent my viewing pleasure and cause me to switch off normally happens in snooker. Only way I'll watch final is if Ronnie wins his Semi. However, Higgins has the wood on him.
I remember my Grandad saying if I ever got in a fight to put a snooker ball in a sock. Terrible idea I could hardly walk.
