    My dad used to point those kingfishers out

    each time we went down. The herons are multiplying year on year too. Not seen the water voles around the back of the res for years though. I grew up just up from the country park by The Ship so that area was my playground. It was a shame when they re-developed the park with the new dam, bridges and paths. It took away some of the rustic feel albeit I'm sure it's now safer and more accessible. It was also a shame when they did away with the annual country fairs.
