Whenever we got done in the last minute by Wednesday. Di Canio in 97-98. Brunt in 2004-05. Maguire in 2013-14. The basterds. Quick mention for a cup game (League Cup I think) when Parkin was manager, at Macclesfield's Moss Rose. I was in Stockport at the time so it was an half hour trip. We were ******* woeful and lucky to equalise late on, Rankin scored I think. Extra time we were even worse, lost 4-1. And that is the bleakest stadium I've ever been to.
Clarkie took the whole of the squad down pit the following week to show them what graft the supporters did to pay their wage...and it was a turning point in our fortunes.
All those games at Sheff Weds when I vowed never to go again.... but still did.... and we lost every time and played **** every time. Bit like Donny as well.
Doncaster Rovers/Coventry City/Queens Park Rangers away on numerous occasions. I don't think I've ever seen us score at any of them.
Losing 3-1 at Marine, FA Cup 1st Round, November 1975. We were bottom of the entire Football League at the time, too. Followed by the 2-0 defeat against Rhyl, FA Cup 2nd Round 2nd replay, a couple days or so before Christmas 1970. My Dad thought I'd like to visit Old Trafford for the match (the attendance was something like 2000!), as we'd never play Manchester United in a league game! I reminded him of it in October 1997!
Bromsgrove in the cup was pretty poor. The Huddersfield 5 nil was also pretty dispiriting. I'm going for West Beom away when we lost 7 nil I think Eric W was stand in manager after a sacking and I was desperate for him to get the job. I lost my train ticket and my last 20 quid due to 'refuelling' issues and ended up dodging the train guard the whole way back then having to walk back to my mam and dads from Barnsley.
When we lost 5 or 6-1 at Brighton under "The Berk." 3 or 4 years ago. 4 hours home in silence with springvale red and his dad.
Away at Crewe in a cup game around the dark days of administration Richard Naylor on loan at centre half got sent off think we lost 2-0
