Didn't know he was reffing that game. Wasn't he also ref at Oakwell against Donny when he reduced us to 9 men in 2005/06? Only home game we lost that season.
Yes, same referee, same opposition. He sent off Austin and Kay that time. Consistently biased whenever he referee'd Barnsley games.
This more like it as I was at the game and in 2015 was living in Singapore. Was gonna put this game up as well, was a terrible effort considering we needed a win.
Remember that. We couldn't get it played because of bad weather/crap pitch and there was talk of playing it at Leeds Road.
That was a bad one.. thought we would piss the league 1st day of the season awful performance against a side tipped for the drop and a 1 nil defeat.
For me Naylor trumps all our other bone idle loanees by several magnitudes of *****. His performance in that Norwich game was beyond unforgivable.
A tuesday night match in the final days of Mel Machin's tenure. Winter, freezing, no atmosphere, banal football. Can't even remember the score or opponents. Why did I go? Why do any of us go? I only remember the basics as it traumatised me. I should join the foreign legion.
If it’s the same game that I nearly chose, it was a 0-0 against Notts County on a Tuesday in March 1993. The most uneventful game I’ve ever attended. County were managed by Colin Warnock and came to play anti-football, not that we were much better. About the only thing I can remember was the classic County black and white strip had detailing like a kid had run an orange Stabilo Boss highlighter over it.
5 minutes to go when Watson tried dribbling around Ian Marshall, then bang bang it was 3-3. Eaden then hit the bar with a cross in stoppage time I think. I was only 13 at the time but remember it being incredibly one-sided, they'd not had a sniff for 85 mins.
Yeah I picked that game as well earlier on in this thread. It was all very different to the previous home game (2-0 against Sunderland live on Itv, on Mother's day!), when we were still thinking about the Play offs then. I expected better from Notts County, but they definitely came to hang on for a point.
Van der Laan played his last game didn't he? Went off injured and never came back. It was on sky I remember watching it at home even though we had season tickets because it was a Friday night and freezing.
