Without a doubt, he was responsable for at least leaking 12 goals.

I thought Mitch Ward was average. Not really bad enough for this list.

David Currie was a reight gypo - but he was good for us. Very good.

I bumped into him on that stair case in the east stand that stops at the 'executive wing' or whatever they call it and he had the dirtiest hair and teeth you've ever seen. Reight player though.

    And Corbo?

Mitch Ward always seemed far too likely to get sent off at any given point - it worried me. A bit like a crap Darren Sheridan (not like Shez was the best player ever but Ward was worse).

Mike Turner - now there was a striker!!!

    Oh you're right about Corbo...

Sheridan had a slate off, but I liked him, because on his day he'd walk into our team now as captain. Matty Appleby really had a slate off. Now is it me or did he punch Clint Marcelle in the face during the Charlton home game the year we went up? We won 4-0?

    I don't remember mate...

I was wasted that game - spent all morning / early afternoon drinking and playing pool in The Countryman on Wombwell!!!

I liked Matty and Shezza too - we could do with a Darren Sheridan type these days!

    If I'm remembering right...

We won 4-0. Wolves v Stoke was a late result coming in, but with two minutes to go Wolves were winning 2-0, so we weren't going to make any gains in the league... then Stoke came back miraculously and won 2-3! Walking back up towards the outpost and grown men were dancing in the street and crying and all sorts.

I remeber the celebration for the equaliser was amazing, then someone with a radio passed the message that a third had gone in! Cars were beeping their horns.. what a day.

I'd dispute that........ Mike Sheron without a doubt

    Sheron wasn't that bad...

Inconsistent - but he had some fantastic games for us at times...

I always thought he was just too far advanced, mentally, than the rest of the squad. Always two steps in front but because no one was on his level nowt ever came off...

I suppose he just could've been ***** though...

Sheron frustrated me an awful lot. His finishing was shocking.

...but some of his turns and touches were class.

    That's what I mean...

He had some genuine technique and vision plus his distribution at times was superb. He did seem to play better in the hole behind the strikers as opposed to an out and out forward.

I thought he got a lot of stick that was undeserved but I can still remember the "Sheron, Sheron" when he had a good game...

    Got to mention Paul Gibbs

But I've seen so many over the years it's hard to decide.

...and very good on the break because he was quick and made good decisions in passing.

    Just **** in the box.

I could never understand how he scored 34 for Stoke that year. His finishing that year was awesome - he got one against us that year in the away fixture that I just admired and thought 'He'll never play for us' lol
