    Tony Cunningham's v Fulham..

..in a 4-3 win after being 3-0 down in the first 15 mins!

Rose like a salmon and headed it in at the Ponty end - think it may have been his debut as well but don't quote me on that one.

    Got to be

Marcelles and Barnards (Bradford and Hudd), but I do have young hazy memories of an Ian Banks free-kick that I always remember as being from about 40 yards and it went like a rocket.

    Nicky Eaden V Sheff U

Not a spectacular goal but just memorable and a good example of how far our wing backs got forward that season.

Free flowing move which ended up with Neil Thompson crossing to the far post where Eaden was totally unmarked in front of the Ponty end. Brilliant win and atmosphere that night.

    Ali MIllar............

Free kick at Donny in '78 jumps out at me..... along with Graham Felton scoring froma corner.
Other noteworthy ones are Banger's against Sheff Wednesday when we won 1-0 at the 'well in 81/82, Big Trev's long range effort against Brighton and Archdeacon's belter against Leicester in the Cup.

Best own goal was a 35-yarder from Paul Futcher when he lobbed the ball over Clive Baker within minutes of us going one-nil up. It was the 87/88 season and i think it was against WBA?

That game against wendies - was it when Terry Curran scored in front of the ponty and had it disallowed?

It could well have been that game although i can't personally recall Curran's disallowed effort. It was a night game - just under 29,000 there.

If it was it was hillarious, especially as I went to school with his neice back then.

Someone played Curran in. He was on to it like a flash and smacked the ball into the net before running round the front of the Ponty end, arms aloft. When he reached the Brewery Stand the lino was waiting for him with his flag up.

We took the pi5s and he got subbed. Bliss at scool the next day.

    Blasts from the distant past

Peter Price hat-trick v Southport, Aylott v Brighton from half way line, Aylott v Man City, Jimmy Seal v Rochdale cup away, Winstanley in same game right foot volley, Sam Yates mazy run beating at least 73 defenders, John Peachey hat trick right foot, left foot, head away at Workington.

Jimmy Robson numerous efforts in promotion season 67/8.

Oh, and a miserable own goal by Spud Murphy ay Oakwell, deflected it past the keeper, chased it back and tried in vain to keep it out, finished up getting his boot tangled in the net was sat there almost in tears trying to disentangle himself for ages. Comical.
