No not got the Thomas's mixed up.. MDG can carry the ball forward, his distribution is worthy of most, he just lacks pace in back tracking which makes him vulnerable. I'd stick him in the mid field with instructions to break up play. However he's capable of spraying it around. and driving forward, for me he can read the game, he has a footballing head on his shoulders re awareness but like I've said he lacks pace that's why in my opinion he gets found out too easily and then allows himself to be bullied into silly last man mistakes
Probably not. Maybe if cheap as an option off bench if we are playing with wingers which it sounds like we are
Absolute no from me. He had a really hard time and I'm not sure being in those surroundings again would be helpful to him. From a footballing perspective, we need more resilience, and sadly, I don't associate that with Thomas.
One player doesn't make a team. Loads of players can play at higher levels. Regardless of the results of the team. Or relegation.
His issues here started when he got caught cheating on the mother of one of his kids and she left him.
Eh? Where has that come from? I met his girlfriend and all his family. He was with the same lass from Sheffield until the very late stages of his time here. I spoke to him and his dad nearly every day. His parents wanted to move up here but they didn't want to leave his sister behind because she didn't want to come so it left them in a awkward position.
I'd have him back, his time at Oakwell were difficult for him but he still managed to perform well for us. If those issues are behind him now, I think he'd do an excellent job. Certainly better than one or two of our current squad...
