RE: If he enjoyed both less

I agree, he 'might be', but you've gone from stating facts to backing it up with a 'might be'. I also feel that a happy person makes a happy player. Not to mention it being a little arrogant to say that he'd be better with us, baring in mind he's worked with some very good managers and coaches at their respective levels culminating in being taken to the Championship by the under 21 England coach. whereas we've had some dubious mangers to say the least since he left, wit the exception of Ritchie.

I feel he's in the best place regardless of end of season standings since any player going through a bad patch at Oakwell gets absolutly slated, particularly home growns, we've done it in the past with Fallon, Eaden we're doing it now without even given players a chance with Richards and Wright(both of whome I don't think are as good as Parkin even with a belly full of beer).

So would he have been a better player with us, certainly not in my opinion.

How arrogant to have an opinion

    apparently.

I apologies for having the brass balls to challenge your worship of Mr Parkin. We must agree to disagree.

IMHO all players would be improved by not supping and smoking. We all would improve our performance in all our jobs. Just athletes depend more on physical fitness

    You misunderstand!

I did not say it was arrogant to have an opinion, I said your opinion was arrogant! There's a difference.

    Precisely

an opinion that differs from yours is arrogant

Thank you for being so honest.

    Sorry I'll explain

Again I do not find an opinion different to mine as being arrogant, I find your opinion arrogant. To think that BFC is, or was, the best place for him to grow his talents is arrogant.

RE: I never said that. I'll explain in simple terms

Sorry to correct you, you said:

"My opinion Jonny Parkin would have been better wi BFC and better today if he supped and smoked less"

I agreed to a certain extent with the second part of the above comment, I think your first comment was arrogant, in my opinion of course.

Yes would have BEEN better wi BFC

as in when he was at Oakwell he'd have been a better player wiart the ale and fags. As in where ever he played or plays he'd improve for not smoking and drinking. WE ALL would as I've said now please go argue with someone less equipped to make you tie yourself in knots. I'm bored by your intransigence

Are you determinedly blind to any other opinion than your own (read a bit dense) or is this a personal vendetta?

    No it wasn't

I disagreed with your opinion thinking it was arrogant. Disagreeing is not being blind.

I did not get personal and certainly did not say you or your opinion was 'dense'.

you completely misinterpreted her post though

    Alityke said this

"My opinion Jonny Parkin would have been better wi BFC and better today if he supped and smoked less"

She meant that if he wasnt smoking and drinking he'd have been a better player back when he was at barnsley and a better player now at hull.

You misinterpreted her post and said her opinion was arrogant because you thought she was saying he would have been a better player if he was still at barnsley.

    Claridge is a funny one

Undoubtedly with the skill he had, trainign would have made him a better player.

There is also the question as to whether you could force him to apply himself. Some people refuse to conform and it's the maverick in them that makes them what they are.

Phil Tufnell is a prime example
