no he's out because some idiot with no sense of justice decided he should be

because hes famous and because oldham had offered him a contract. He hasn't served his original time though

but how many of them get let out

coincidentally as soon as a football team offer them a £100k a year deal?

Lee Hughes is going to Doncaster Rovers

Or at least they are trying. SOD admitted that they have bid for him, 400k release clause and out of contract in the Summer. He wants Championship footy - so if he goes to Donny - he won't be there long!

I doubt that had with owt to do with his release

He would know his earliest date of release within weeks of being banged up. Save attacking someone while in the nick he would serve approx half his sentance unless the judge stipulated a minimum term. Its the way the justice system works in this country irrespective of whether you think its "justice" or not.

The same as almost any other criminal

Due to the lack of space in our prisons most crooks serve less than half their sentence so a 6 year prison sentence really means 3 unless you cause trouble inside.

Crooks hasnt been given special treatment

That said I dont really think he is the sort of person we want signing for us

Anyone not up to speed with the story might find this guys views interesting

    With good cause on occasions....

Shouldnt happen to folk what commit crimes like he done, in that i mean run away and think **** the ***** i just smashed to pieces and probably Killed! And then to go a day after and hand themselves in to the Law....

Hes a top, top piece of **** with a heart of a coward, and BFC should never sign a man of his type....

    Only my opinion like....

Oldham managing director Simon Corney has admitted that the club 'may be forced to sell' Lee Hughes.

Hughes has been in sparkling form this season, with his goals helping the Latics to mount a strong bid for promotion.

Oldham confirmed last week that Championship strugglers Doncaster had made enquiries about Hughes, who is out of contract in the summer.

The 32-year-old has been offered a new deal by Oldham but Corney accepts it could be difficult to keep him given the current financial climate.

"I've said this before but the issue is completely in Lee's hands. Hopefully he will stay but if he wants to go, he will be able to go. People know the price," Corney said.

"But it's more than just the price. If he came to us and said 'look, I want to leave', and there was reasonable money on the table, even if it wasn't the full amount, then we would have to sit down with Lee and work something out, but we may be forced to sell.

"Lee's a good lad and I don't think he'll do the club wrong and we'll just have to see what happens."

He would fit the Blunts better

They seem to think criminal offences dont matter - "after all he didnt mean to kill people these things happen to footballers who have had a drink with their mates etc" would be just what I would expect from them
As long as he doesnt come to us

    Aye..

but why should he be penalised any differently to any other professional that had committed the same crime. No doubt had he been a highly paid solicitor or city banker for example no fecker would bat an eyelid when he returned to work.

BTW I don't think BFC will be remotely interested in sullying the good name of the club and rightly so but desperation to remain in the championship could see morals thrown out of the window elsewhere.

Was to blame in a car crash in which he killed one man, severely injured another and in total left four people for dead, fleeing the scene to save his own neck.

If the other car hadnt been on the right side of the road...

The list is endless - but actually this is degenerating into bad taste Its not really a subject for humour

I dont want him - by the way he killed the other person as well - she never really recovered and died a year later. Doubt that would have happened without the accident

So that means he killed two and severely injured another? The passenger died at the scene and the driver was injured pretty badly wasnt he? I didn't realise a woman was injured/killed as well

400k 32 year old. Will not get a resale fee for him. Not good business. nad a risk that he still has the legs for Championship football.
