A bit of a knife edge decision for me but I went for yes. On balance he gained us more points than he lost us.
I'm hoping that Clarke will get the whole team looking more solid and playing with purpose so don't see any reason why Roberts couldn't benefit from that. He suffered in the last couple of months of last season because the team became a shambles.
I stand by what I said in that thread, so I need a 'Yes or No' option. If his wages are L1 level then yes. Not good enough to be spending one of our top wages on though, we'd get better, for less. I'd prefer Davies to come back.
I’m surprised at the way this pole has gone to be honest. It’s not as though he’s an up and coming player. I know goalies have a longer career than outfielders but at 29 he’s not going to get a lot better than he is now. Shame but I do think we can do better
He’s a year’s experience with our current back line. That stands him well. Also Players’ Player speaks a lot too.
Robert's boat has sailed, his Norwegian blue has gone to meet it's maker, his fat lady has sung and his toast is burnt. Its a no from me.
Me too. He looks raw. He can clearly make some good saves, but he hasn't mastered the role of a goalkeeper: he can't kick and he can't command his area. He looks like a rookie who has been given his chance because he's got some talent but hasn't mastered the art yet. Like when David Watson first came into the side (although not as good as David) - great shot stopper but still a lot to learn. But Watson was a kid when he first took over from Butler, he had years ahead of him to get better (unfortunately that didn't turn out to be the case due to the injury). Roberts will soon be 30. I think a lot of people are of the belief we got a young a keeper on loan, rather than a keeper who has spent almost all his career in non-league and league 2.
