I've just listened to the full interview and I wouldn't say he's broken. He's just as deluded as when he came on board on day one. He still doesn't know a great deal, and what he does know, he perceives to be a success and progress.

But perhaps stepping back, what I don't really understand is the timing. We've just seen a gap open to 8 points, but mathematically, we can still stay up, though the odds of that are very slim now. What good can come of that interview?

You take a sombre tone and it looks like you've lost hope. You take a positive tone and you look delusional. You don't answer questions you look evasive. You answer questions with false information you set yourself up to be called a liar. You say you don't know the answers and you look incompetent.

Across 23 minutes, he's perhaps hit all those notes which is frightening.

Wait a week or two, and then knowing we're down, you can tell it as it is and glorify your transparency galore.

I've worked with and advised a lot of CEO's in my time. There's no way in a million years I'd even interview that guy, let alone employ him.

No, but you can manage him out on performance.

Football interviews really aren't that hard, they are basically all the same, each playbook is already scripted........

Agreed. I honestly can say I haven’t listened to a CEO, manager, or owner interview for many a year. It’s all empty words anyway, and that goes far beyond the current regime.

You'll be more qualified than me to know what's possible there. But wouldn't it put us back to square one, with a new CEO trying to navigate running a club under this ownership?

Given his damage to the supporter base with multiple stupid comments and the debacle of the West Stand, and a likely relegation and huge drop off in ST's.... you could easily position some of that and start going through a warning process. The issue is our owners are likely not very good at managing people closely and they won't. But a competent group would have him gone, and really should have termination factored into his contract based on his performance. If our highest paid director is our CEO, we absolutely cannot afford to be paying nearly £200k on a failing CEO who seems to be a poor communicator and extremely weak around finance.

Some hard choices need to be made in the summer, and I have no confidence Al Ahmad can make those choices in the best interests of the club.

I don't know if you heard his comments about the owners in the interview. Where he said the owners were open to offers for the club, though obviously they have to meet their valuation. It could well be that there are moves afoot to get rid of Conway and Lee.

I'd rather start with a clean slate and get all of those who are either disingenuous or clueless (or both) out of the club.

He should have started with "I'd like to apologise to the Fans of Barnsley FC for my part in what has been a complete disaster of a season both on and off the field". And finished with " I intend to tender my resignation to the board at the earliest possible opportunity".

Why waste time with the interview, he should just resign and get gone.
