It's not organic success, but at least they just make films rather than chopping up journalists.

That money hasn't all been spent on buying success.
A quarter of it went in buying the club so isn't anything to do with it
One of the first things they did was to spend money gutting the concourse behind the goals and building a supporters bar, installing new toilets, seating areas, bright lighting and painted walls and basically making the place less of a **** hole than our east stand is.
Millions of the money were spent buying the stadium.
Money was spent relaying the pitch.
Money was spent demolishing a stand and starting the process of rebuilding it.
Money has been spent building floodlights much better than ours that are far more energy efficient than ours too.
Money was spent replacing a not fit for purpose scoreboard with a large video screen to benefit the fans.
Money was spent building a gym at the ground for players to utilise
Money was spent building a viewing platform for the benefit of disabled supporters
Money was spent installing braille signage throughout the stadium, installing additional disabled toilets, disabled friendly kiosks, turnstiles and painting the stands and walkways to make them easier for disabled supporters to see and use
Money was spent creating a 4 camera set up for match highlights and their version of ifollow to benefit supporters.
Money was spent renovating their sensory room for autistic supporters. Yes, Wrexham have a room for autistic fans to go and have a quiet time out if the match becomes too much.

So yes money has been spent, but the majority has been spent improving facilities for supporters not buying success on the pitch

So they haven't spent any money on players? And that ground must have been far worse then ours to have spent as much as you say.

I don't remember saying they haven't spent any money in players and of course their ground was far worse than ours. It's a non league ground which had a stand condemned for 15 years

I may be wrong and read it wrong but it comes across to me that you're having a dig at Barnsley.

Not at all, especially it when we've just put millions in. It's the examples I can find where they've spent money on facilities and infrastructure rather than buying promotion as dreamboy suggests.

I did notice that there were a lot of parallels with us though, a closed stand, crappy scoreboard, depressing concourses etc but the difference is they bought their ground, we haven't yet. The comparison to us there is that if we did sort the ground ownership out and spent money improving our concourses, building a bar, new scoreboard and replacing the west stand would dreamboy be moaning that we are buying success? Course not

The star striker dropped two leagues to join them and earns way more than Wrexham could afford if run self sufficiently. Notts County star striker cost 50k off Gateshead. I'd rather Wrexham continued to stay out of the EFL. Hopefully that brilliant performance of Halifax will have inspired some of their upcoming opponents.

I know the other Solihull fan and he’s not a fan of them either. He had a different opinion when they were chucking money at it left, right and centre.

It’s a bit like the top of the Prem, money talks.
Mullin, one of the main reasons they are where they are for instance dropped down leagues when his form was worthy of going in the other direction.
Others will see it as an uneven playing field ( same as parachute payments I suppose) the only way it will go back to being fair is when they come up against clubs with similar budgets, but even in league 2 they will be up against cash strapped clubs.

I think it’s great that non league football is getting so much attention and publicity.....also would you have the same to say if roles were reversed and we were Wrexham and had an owner ploughing big money into our club?.....I guess not eh?

At the opposite end of it, Scunny have been relegated to the National League North today. Lost 2-0 against Oldham. Two sides we were playing against in League One not all that long ago.

Just watched this back in full - cracking game, especially the second half. Winner from an ex-Red too!

They were on about building another new stadium again a few years ago (present one only 35 yrs old). Pipedream now.

According to the York City manager Foster is on 6k a week ridiculous money at that level. We won't have many players on that ourselves, if any and we are two leagues above them.
