I think like most football clubs we have some fans who tend to think that if we lose three games we’re about to fall into the National League and if we win three the Champions League is just around the corner. I tend to judge the actions of the Owners over a period of time and, as they have asked - by their actions. The present owners (and the previous ones) have been appalling on that measure. Maybe you are right and we are seeing the tentative buds of a change of attitude but I don’t think 3 games is long enough to measure that. Of course I’d like to see the owners pump more money into the Club and drastically improve their decision making - on and off the pitich - but at the moment I’d be happy with them trying to arrest the spiralling decline which the Club is still in. To that end it would be helpful if they were a little clearer with the supporters what they were actually trying to do. A public statement on - why they have chosen to buy the Club. - what their long term ambition is for the Club. - over what period they intend to deliver on that ambition. - how they intend to do so. I genuinely don’t think that’s a lot to expect.
I’m not sure you can call what they’ve done buying success. They’ve not put much money into the club, they just opened new revenue streams that aren’t available to other clubs. In my opinion it’s totally different to an owner putting 10s of millions in to a club.
Seems like you keep clicking on threads with “wrexham” in the title and then being surprised it’s about wrexham and lashing out. Just don’t click the thread and you don’t have to read it…
Spot on, I mean they've still upto now kept faith with Phil Parkinson, in the process building a brand valued at over 100m and growing revenue by 347% from the moment they came in, not to mention the tourism boost for the area. Been a phoenominal success story so far with a solid plan for growth
Whilst my instinct is to be deeply cynical about the whole Wrexham circus I also like the fact that an unfashionable club from the @rse end of Wales gets to be mentioned in the same breath as the more "successful" clubs and areas. lets face it there are dozens of Wrexhams - place left behind by the powers that be, no one cares about, except to be sniffy at, talk down to and victim blame for their economic plight. I hope they make it the Premier League, I hope that the big clubs and the media have to go to Wrexham and not just ignore it, like they ignore everywhere else that's not one of the big cities or in the South.
