Wright - " A miss directed header" - Get used to it folks. It's a long season.

It is beyond me how supporters of a team can come on the message boards to make fun and complain about their own players. I have been on here before as I am a Leicester City supporter who still keeps an eye on how past players are at their new clubs.
It seems that Tommy is the blame for everything that is wrong with a few of you.
I watched your play off final and must say thought it was brilliant and glad you got promotion.
Your goalie had nerves of steel at the penalty shoot out and became your hero. But tell me would that have been so if he had not performed so well and you did not secure promotion? Or the penalty takers had not done so well.
The Championship is a really hard league to stay in and be promoted from believe me. We just escaped relegation last time round but we got behind the team and the manager. No one booed a player in their own colours because it just knocks the confidence out of them. And believe me we watched some dire stuff at times.
I am sure Tommy is desperate to get on the score sheet but just isn't doing it at the moment. Booing him won't help.
He works hard and I am sure will be really useful as this season goes on.
The team is about all of you together, management, players and supporters.
Get behind the team whoever is in it and wearing your shirt. Enjoy the coming season and I hope you do really well.Look forward to seeing you in December at the Walkers.

 

Unlike some on here I wouldn't actually call ayone in a Reds shirt "****" nor would I boo him. It's all rather counter-productive.
As far as I'm concerned Barnsley have never had a single player that could be classed as "****" either, having played a bit of football in the past I'm sure every single player that BFC has had on their books was much better than me.
However, I do reserve the right to cast opinion on a player that is not fit for purpose, specifically in this division. Tommy didn't appear to me (or as far as I can acertain, anyone else) to have either the skill, motivation or strikers instinct to make a difference in the Barnsley set up. It's been said that he worked hard last night and that's fair enough, but from what I've seen (and heard from reliable sources) he has to improve. Substantially.

Of course you have the right to an opinion, we all do. I just know that we at Leicester we destroyed Akinbuyi's career here. He was bought for alot more than Tommy, a prolific goal scorer who at leicester couldn't hit a donkey's a**e with a banjo.
He was booed constantly until everytime he got near the ball he panicked and missed the sort of goals he has no trouble scoring now.
He has gone on 2 better things and got promoted to premiership with Sheffield United.
The City fans haven't booed their own players since. Hard lesson to learn.
And no I am not his mum but would be proud if I was. He is a lovely lad.

 

I can't recall Wright being booed at any point...

so where this has come form I'm not sure. I don't think he will be good enough at this level but we will see.
