In defence of it, most things on TV are fake - look at how many people watch Eastenders and Coronation Street for example.
Yep, i suppose you are right mate. But when things like WWE go to pay-per-view to watch a fake show, to me that takes the piss. How would you like it if you paid for Ricky Hatton's next fight on box office, only to find out the result had already been decided before the first punch? Or to have paid for a match on Prem Plus, the result was already confirmed prior to kick off? I have to say I have enjoyed watching a bit of royal rumble in my time, but how anyone can take it serious is beyond me - and there are a LOT of people who still think its genuine!!!! Crazy people.
Fully agree with that and strongly disagree that they charge people to watch it (Can you imagine paying for a 3 hour Eastenders special?) but it is no more fake than soaps - infact, its more real than those, people do get injured, die, break bones, etc. I'd choose to watch an hour of wrestling over an hour of Coronation Street, without really thinking about it, I think.
I've always said, if you watch it for the entertainment value then you can't beat it. It's more like a soap now-a-days The only people who should lose credability for watching it are the people over 14 who take it seriously.
Latest report said he killed his wife on the Saturday in one room, his son on the Sunday in another room, and then himself in another room on Monday. What the hell...
Chris Benoit? possibly one of the best wrestlers of this generation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Benoit but, he is a muderer, as it looks... reasons are sketchy, and any scenario is possible
it's strange people think it is real but to diss is due to being "fake" is just as bad i suppose. After all - why do people watch action movies? The good guys always win in the end, so why bother? After all - that's what the script says The good thing about wrestling is that the bad guys sometimes win, not fairly admittedly, but there's some unpredictability. Don't watch it too much these days, but I have about 1,500 fights on video tape from the 80s and 90s. Shame I don't have a VCR!
