Thats not true if a state wants the WWE to pay sports related taxes the WWE simply doesn't go back there. They changed their name because in 2000, the World Wide Fund for Nature (also WWF), an environmental organization, sued the World Wrestling Federation. The Law Lords agreed that Titan Sports had violated a 1994 agreement which had limited the permissible use of the WWF initials overseas, particularly in merchandising. Both companies used the initials since March 1979. On May 5, 2002, the company quietly changed all references on its website from "WWF" to "WWE", while switching the URL from WWF.com to WWE.com. The next day, a press release announced the official name change from World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc. to World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc., or WWE, and the change was publicized later that day during a telecast of Monday Night Raw, which emanated from the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut. For a short time, WWE used the slogan "Get The 'F' Out." The company had also been ordered by the Lords to stop using the old WWF Attitude logo on any of its properties and to censor all past references to WWF, as they no longer owned the trademark to the initials WWF in 'specified circumstances'. Despite litigation, WWE is still permitted use of the original WWF logo, which was used from 1984 through 1997, as well as the "New WWF Generation" logo, which was used from 1994 through 1998. Furthermore, the company may still make use of the full "World Wrestling Federation" and "World Wrestling Federation Entertainment" names without consequence.

Speaking as a professional wrestler it is fake as in you are told who is going to win but you do hit each other and it does hurt and yes we know how to 'fall' it doesn't make it completely painless it makes it safe or at least safer, we do get injured and after a match you are pretty banged up.

Nevermind the boring fake/not real etc argument. How about the promo The Rock did on Smackdown? Amazing it was. Surprised to see him take the piss out of his acting career.

Your right it is it was much quicker to do that than write it out the name change had nothing to do with tax reasons like i said in the states where the athletic commission covers professional wrestling and there for they have to pay taxes as a sports francise they simply don't go. The article you posted ins't fully correct either pre-determined storylines ALWAYS dictate who the winner will be not sometimes, but i have already said that we know before we go into the ring who is going to win and how.

Yeah the undertaker is still going but he keeps having to take time out so i don't think he can carry on for long and Mick Foley is still going even though he has retired twice but he is working for TNA and only working 2 or 3 dates a month

I didn't say it was real lol. People take piss out of Sports Entertainment (which is what WWE claim to be. Vince Mcmahon doesn't even call it wrestling). Yet the same people watch scripted movies, television shows etc which are waaaaaaaaay easier.

Are you really arguing about whether wrestling is fake or not?

    Haha. Seriously?

Of course it's scripted. It's sports entertainment. A well scripted, well choreographed dance between to actors, but it's fun, and if people like to watch it, then great. I used to watch it when I was younger and I loved it. Those guys do get battered and bruised, so it isn't fake, but like I said. It's theatre. That's all.

As a wrestler myself, Im saying well done Poet, someone who see's it, although Im no actor, anyone who's a actor can't wrestle, more to it than that!!! and most top guys in the US or UK arn't either (The rock as made movies but he's a all round entertainer anyway).
