What percentage would you say the pro and anti Putin is in Russia from what you have seen?

 

That's really hard to guage. If I asked around people in the circles I move in, the response would be overwhelmingly anti-war and anti-Putin. But they are mostly university-educated, well-travelled urbanites, who speak foreign languages, watch English films, and get their news from independent sources. Ask some mechanics or factory workers in the provinces and you're likely to get a very different vibe. Some very good professional pollsters have tried to answer this question, and have concluded that around 10% of the population are strongly in favour of the war, 10% are very actively against, and the other 80% are either fed up with it and want it to end in whatever way possible just to go back to "normal", or are burying their heads in the sand and trying to ignore it, for a variety of reasons.

When looking at these suggested figures, it's important to bear a couple of things in mind. People are often scared of giving their real opinion, and actively opposing the war can be quite dangerous - so it's quite likely that the 10% who are "actively against" is far higher in reality.

 

Yes and that's horrible. I was speaking purely that I think it's hilarious that his supporters are now suffering. It's just a shame they can't suffer while those with more than 2 braincells and oppose him are also suffering
