redders was with us for a few years, through the stable but mundane years of machin, you cannot compare hignett as he wasn't with us that long, he was a key short term player, redders was a god to the 30+ers and amongst gods to the 40+ers, higgy was an hero

    He said since.

Regardless of our individual views, I find it hard to understand why any BFC fan would try to knock Redders or negate his contribution to our club. (Not aimed at you Marlonsy).

How much better is much better? Name these 'much better' players and describe how their contribution to BFC outweighs that of Neil Redfearn. I can't comment on the four 4th division years you have on me, but I'm still intrigued.

Redders scored a fair few goals, and had a decent shot on him, which means that he stands out in the archives. And he played a long time for us. He deserves his legend tag.

He stands comparison with Higgy. And we should remember Brian Howard as well in recent times.

But it is the length of his service, like Bobby, that makes him special

You forgot the little matter of him Captaining us to promotion, against all the odds and against 'much better' and much more expensive teams.

Anyone who doubts Neil Redfearn as a player for us is head mental. I've got our 100 greatest goals video. Almost half of them are scored by Redders

And to the Premier League too.

And to his holding his own in that league such that he attracted a decent fee ( for his age ) thereafter
