I still can't believe that. We had our best season in about 20 years and the board decided that what we needed to do was **** it all off and adopt a playstyle diametrically opposed to what had just succeeded

 

I quite enjoyed it. We could have done better with our balls into the box from our few break away's, instead of finding the first Wycombe player every time, and we kept fighting until the end. I've seen us play much better though, but last night wasn't all bad.

I think Benson deserves a start & Humphrys, as he was way more effective than Cosgrove.

 

Cosgrove really frustrates me. I love a target man, it’s a dying art in the modern game is a big striker. But how can someone so big be so soft? I honestly sometimes believe I’ve had harder spouts of diarrhoea.

I’d love for him to come good but my patience is finally wearing thin.

Benson is a good player and always has been from what we’ve seen, I hope this is the year he can be injury free and we put him in the team. One moment that stands out for me last night is he sprinted 15 metres then put in a crunching tackle with the ball ending up at Jalo’s feet then benson was carrying on that run with the overlap. We haven’t seen that this year from our midfielders yet.

 

Clarke has mentioned Benson being close to a start. Phillips out injured and he still cannot get in. He played well again when he came on and should start at the weekend.

Most frustrating thing is he gets manhandled by two defenders most of the time but the moment he does any thing physical back it’s always a foul given against him.

 

Agreed. Cosgrove is 27 & has been decent in a handful of matches. He has no positional sense & most of his efforts to win the ball result in a free kick the other way, as he's all over the place. He is one of the last players I'd want on the teem sheet TBH. I'd hope we could find him a club in L2 in January, as he inspires me not, sadly. I don't slag off players very often. He does put in a shift, but that is it. Not good enough sadly

Benson, on the other hand seems to have battled back from injury to be finally making a stake for a start. Whether he can stay injury free is the only question. I hope he gets his chance.

 

Same with my choice of women mate, I'm easily pleased.
