Might be in minority but I wanna keep MDG and possibly Nwakali depending if he's only a squad player and how big his wages are. Woildnt be fully against Watters but I fear he's had more than enough opportunity.
It’s not even about what he’s worth - it’s about what’s worth taking and disrupting the team/needing another position to be recruited. If the club is losing multiple millions a year then any fee needs to make a dent on that, not make a negligible difference while creating new problems.
My take on Connell is there are other players on the books can do the same job. Yoganathan and Bland for starters without breaking the bank.
Must admit, the most excited thing for me so far this upcoming season is seeing what youngsters will be like mate. Bland , Yoganathan, Jalo, Shepherd. Hoefully we bring in some experienced talented players to help them along
We're not the only club working with a deficit in fact almost every club in the league are. The owners won't be taking or accepting the need to take money out.Any incoming will service some of the debut but mainly be available for the squad and the day to day running of the club.I don't think it's as desperate as some make out.Its the way football is run unfortunately. All the clubs are in the same boat its how the boats steered going forward thats the key.
Saw a picture of him the other day at the friendly and he's still got a big brace thing on his leg so I'd guess he's a long way off
It’s equity they are putting in, there is no debt apart from the soft debt to Crynes for the settlement of the legal case around the purchase.
If he’s so underrated as he seems to be by some posters on here, then a sell-on clause would be pointless as they won’t get what they paid for him anyway. Or, is he now going to be a big miss and the club are going to have their ‘pants down’ Damned if they do, damned if they don’t eh?
I wouldn`t be happy whatever the fee but I do recognise that everyone has their price. Just don`t think we have anyone to play his role at the club at present - and please don`t say Bland.
I've no idea how well he would do at Wycombe but having a decent sell on clause seems a sensible thing to do in case he does develop into the consistent quality player that we all wanted him to be. Then in the meantime Conor can crack on with using some of the money to mould the team how he sees fit.
Bland has potential but that’s all it is. Can’t sell Connell and expect Bland to just slip into the role. Please no one suggest Nwakali (if he comes back).
I don't mind Connell, but last year (and by all accounts the year before) he's been very disappointing. I would have thought that Wycombe's public bid might have flushed out a couple of Championship teams into taking a punt but I'm guessing his general stats over the last two years are putting people off. He might improve, he might not, none of us know, but if no other clubs come in for him, I'd say that suggests what his current value is.
