Did I say that? But for now to maximise its use and the top version of High Def it offers only the latest Sony TV's use it. And still it is no better than the 360's. Could be rubbish but that come from someone I know who works for a game developer.
RE: Are you saying that the PS3 is only compatible with Sony tellys? I read it that he meant you only get HD output if you are using on a Sony HD TV....on other TV's the output isn't in HD. This is where we get the confusion - number of people I've spoken to who, because they have a HD TV think they are watching HD even when they don't have a HD source.
For the record you can still get HD gaming on the PS3 just that each TV has different levels which it operates.
For the record just in case anyone actually believes this:
A HD TV shows HD images. Sky HD, PS3, Xbox360, a blu ray player or anything else that outputs inHD will output in High Def on any HD TV.
My Sony Bravia TV outputs on 1080i, not the maximum 1080p, so some TVs are better than others. But its the resolution you should take notice of, not the TV maker.

We have had a PS3 at work for a few weeks. Not really played on it, just a quick blast on motorstorm which was fun.
But its much bigger than I expected, and very shiny. Its a bit retro looking, and the shininess really shows smudged finger prints.
Not that any of that is a reason to not buy one.

Always been a Sony PS fan. Over time they always seem to get the upperhand over their rivals. They are the masters of gaming. PS3 is the one I will be getting, but not till the price is down.
RE: Not strictly true .... www.renchi.com or www.playasia.com have info. I bought the US version of crackdown and it works fine on my UK console. On the play asia site if you brows the xbox360 games, you will see whihc languages are supported and if it works on NTSC, PAL or both.
We have had usually PS at home and the odd Nintendo thingy. The XBox 360 though is the best i have seen, especially with an online gold acccount. My comments are:- - XBox 360 Gears of War, Ghost Recon, Gotham Racing 3, Lost Planet, NHL07...Go for it. You willl get your moneys worth from these alone before the PS3 gets in its price range. - XBox360 - loads of retro and demo games to download which offer more than just the shelf game options. In fact the retro arcades are proving massively more popular than expected. - Halo 3, plus many other long awaited releases will keep this console in No1 slot. - By the time the PS3 will have enough 'great' games its price will have dropped and you perhaps can buy one of those also. - As a reminder, always tended to go for PS, but blown away with XBox 360, especially with Gold Live.
360 I've got the 360 and i can't fault it. Gears of war and pro evo what more would you want? i used to own ps2, but realized microsoft seem to creating alot more stable consoles at cheaper prices with as good as or better graphics. I'm not a big bill gates fan, but can't really bad word is consoles. to all 360 owners i recommend one of these, http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/1138504/-/Product.html?searchstring=intercooler&searchsource=0 cost 15 quid (picked mine up off ebay for a tenner) and supposingly keeps your components inside your 360 alot cooler, reducing the risk of them overheating or frying.
Should have gone for a PS3 First 125 people in queue at Oxford Street Virgin Megastore, got a free £2k sony bravia tv. Lucky sods.
