Sorry but the Blueray player is not Average at best. It's bloddy stunning man. 2 weeks ago I saw the PS3 play the same movie on the same telly as 2 of the so called best blueray players on the market and you couldn't tell the difference in picture quality. Sound yes but not the picture.
I don't profess to know much about stuff like that either, but beating the PS3's blu-ray player would take a lot for me. The difference that the average person could see isn't worth seeing, surely? I don't know if this makes a difference either, but I get T3 magazine, and they have rated the PS3 as the best blu-ray player all-in-all for value etc. Last I knew too it was the only BR player that could be upgraded, although I appreciate this may have changed since I heard this. It's each to their own but I am more than happy with my PS3. You don't need to buy wireless adapters, battery packs, fans, online subscription etc - it's all there, everything you need from the off. The ability to play my entire back catalogue of PS1 and PS2 games was a massive pull as well. I don't want to hear the stuff about paying £25-£40 for a years x-box live membership either - with that money I could buy a new game for the PS3, and I don't play online enough to warrant paying that amount of money when I can get it free on the PS3.
Blue Ray? I’m happy with a DVD. And anyway I’ve got an HD Hard Drive with my 360. DVD/Blue Ray, who cares? There the same thing. You put them into a machine and they play a film. At the end of the day the 360 is the better more popular machine with a greater choice of games that look better and is more realistically priced. I myself was a Playstation dude who couldn’t see myself buying an x-box but I’m glad I did. Yes you do pay for x-box live but it you get what you pay for. And in that respect live is better than the PS3 version by far.
Good debate this mate. You cant come with the argument about blu-ray/ dvd tho "You put them into a machine and they play a film" if that was the case how come DVD's are more popular than VHS now? So many people have HD TV's now, and eventually people will want to take advantage of them by putting HD content through them. HD-DVD is dead so the choice is BR. The 360 is also the most popular machine because it's been out a hell of a lot longer the the PS3, and will probably continue to sell better for a while longer I imagine due to the price of it. But for me the PS3 is the ultimate machine now. It's a machine that will play PS1, PS2 and PS3 games. It can be used to surf the internet, you can watch upscaled DVD's and BR movies, you can also use it now as a PVR and stream content to your PSP wherever you are (internet connection permitting). The list goes on. As for more realistically priced... if M$ put a BR player inside then i'm sure that they couldn't be anywhere near as competetive price-wise as they currently are. And as far as x-box live goes, like I said previously I wouldn't get £30 worth of use out of it compared to the free PS Network. Sorry for being a fanboy ;-)
RE: So is Fifa out in the shops today then???? nt Friday, got mine on pre-order through game website.
Same here, got mine off game.co.uk Got an email this morning saying its been dispatched Could be here tomoz
£200? where u get that from? Closer to half that. Plus there is all the extras with the 360, like £60ish for the wireless network thingy, then the battery pack - soon adds up.
RE: Same here, got mine off game.co.uk Just checked my emails, ive got 1 too mate. Should be here in morning, but the game is not released until friday, didnt think they would be allowed to send them out when game is not even released.
I pre-ordered Rainbow six vegas 2 off play.com. Came about 3 days before it even game out in shops.

RE: Same here, got mine off game.co.uk I hope its here tomoz, unfortunatley our postman works in afternoon. Some ppl are getting thers today!
Wireless network thing (dont need) battery charger, tenner....
Ive preferered PES in past mate, but this new Fifa is class should give it a go. Download demo on PS3, thats if you can download demo's on a ps3.

Lol, ur avin a right dig aren't ya ;-) I wont download such ***** tbh, Fifa to me is simply unplayable. Fifa fans creamed over the last 2 and are absolutely drooling about this new one, but I simply find them unplayable, boring and nowt flowing about em. That 10 v 10 sounds pretty good though. As for the wireless thing, you might not need it but I certainly would. My PS3 is nowhere near my router / modem so £60 would have to be spent. Add to that the charger and thats £70 on top of the price of the console. Then there's the zillions of people affected by the RROD!
RE: Same here, got mine off game.co.uk

Many a time i've had PES and Footy Manager delivered a couple of days before official release mate (Y) i'm hoping I wont be let down this year with PES due out on 17th I think.

I thought the same with FIFA, every game that they have released since they started has been such utter ****, and after last 1 i thought exact way you thought, slow **** football game, now its fast mate, totally changed the last pro evo was worse than Fifa 08, Should download Fifa pal, you will be glad you did. Cant see new pro evo beating it, thats if its any like last 1.

I am with you ND. PS3 is the better machine and if you can afford the extra then pay it (although like you say the extras for the xbox make the difference in price marginal). I have always had playstations and find them to be ultra reliable, something that can't be said of xbox (so it is said). As for FIFA, absolute pish. Doesn't play like a game of football at all. PES is far superior. I made the mistake of buying FIFA 2008 for the PS3, and I never play it. Tried my best to get into it but it is so unrelistic. PES flows like a game of football.
