Hecky has stated on many occasions we will be playing a 442 and I suspect like last season we will have to capability to switch to a 451 or 433 if we either want to see out the game out or push for a winner/equaliser. But i'm willing to put a friendly £20 bet to charity that we start 8/10 of the first games with 2 up top!
We will be playing the 4-4-2 that we did brilliantly with last season. If we sign this guy he's only going to be bench warming. If we sign Jinty he's played alot on the right wing. So our midfield four will likely be Hammill, Moncur, Hourihane, Jinty or Watkins. Winnall and Bradshaw up front. Davies, White, Roberts, Mawson and Yiadom in defence. That to me is a decent side. Obviously after a few games opinion could change He'd strengthen the bench with the likes of Lee, Jinty/Watkins (whoever we don't play down that side) and Bree.
Play that team and we'll not get a point first three games. Ipswich, Derby and QPR will be looking to rip us apart and the fans will turn on him. Guarantee. 1 win in August an sacked in September.
OK well lets drop Moncur to the bench and put in Scowen instead for some steady sidewards passes and backwards passes. Not a knock on Scowen because he's a good player. It's a knock on how we can't win games without that sort of Dawson, Perkins, Frimpong ect player.
Heckingbottom's got a chance to make a good decision or bad. Choose your opinion and the bad choice then on the 20/08 and 27/08 he will feel the pressure.
Based on the players we currently have for next season, if we signed no more players (obviously we will) what would be your team for the opening game?
He won't be under any pressure what so ever. Not like you Phil to be having a go before a balls been kicked in anger Sent from my X5pro using Tapatalk
I think Hecky and these players have shown that they deserve respect and our support. They did what many considered impossible since the turn of this year. I'll trust and support these players as the likes of Davies, Roberts, Hourihane, Hammill and Winnall have just given me the best 6 months of my Barnsley supporting life since the heady days of the premiership. I honestly don't have time for anyone knocking any of our stars who gave us the last 6 months. Anyone knocking any of them isn't someone I would care to meet or engage with. They aren't worth it.
If i was the commentator when Wiseman was playing he woud've been in our first team every week. "FFS hes on the ball again."
That is rubbish.. when will you learn that the world of hemswoth, starts and ends in your own head... There no guarantee here, only opinion..
On topic and away from the Hemsworth show (becoming a regular event, again) I've seen him a few times, not often, for Swindon and he's always looked classy. Not the most mobile but retains the ball well enough, nice balance. I like midfielders who are comfy in possession, not startled rabbits. Can't find owt online regards us being in for him, mind.
