Course they would - but their heads have yet to be turned so I'm sure they're happy at BFC until something else comes along. Difference is Yiadom was close to a move so there will be a huge amount of disappointment on his part.
We have to deal with the facts. He's back, he's proved that he's a good player but do his future ambitions lie elsewhere. ? Does Hecky play him and risk alienating another squad member who also deserves a shirt or do we put him on the bench and call on him if the game needs a player like him to turn the game in our favour.? Three unknowns for me, why did his move break down, was it personal terms or on medical grounds.? Is he still wanting away.? If selected will he give it " his all" or so as not to jeopardise a move elsewhere in the future not go in as hard as he could. Only Hecky knows the answer and it will be interesting to see which way he goes , now he knows that he's back in the fold- for now.!
Offer him a 1 year extension deal, same financial terms as prev offered. If he still doesn't want to sign then we know his hearts not in it for the long term. If he does then end of story start with a clean page.
Not all clubs will have such strict medical requirements, just look as us, we signed Richard Kell, the man with two large pieces of popcorn for knees.
I think we can assume there is a medical issue and perhaps on the back of that Huddersfield wanted protection in any contract they signed with Yids. Poorer terms, short contract? I like the guy, but the TV thing was pathetic, probably inspired by some Big Time Charlie agent. Perhaps he or she will reflect that burning your boat is not a good policy.
But they'd all have the same reaction as Yids if there were. He's a professional, he owes nothing except to try and perform to the best of his ability while here. Some people think that players have taken a vow of marriage with the club. Every player we have left another club to get here. Clubs whose fans are just as passionate as ours.
But they haven't so it's irrelevant. Based on his performances so far Yiadom doesn't want to be here. He has a shitty attitude and the sooner we can get rid the better.
He could have shown a bit more respect though especially to Hecky who has helped to improve his game over the last 12 months .
I wonder if we will find out the truth. If Yiadom is staying at Oakwell AND we have just signed Dimitri Cavare .... why? Is Yiadom's injury such that he will need further surgery and won't be available for a while again? Are we right in assuming that it was his shoulder injury which resulted in the abortive transfer to Huddersfield? Are we still willing to sell him? If he is fit and the Hudders deal is off, I can't understand why we have brought in Cavare? Something doesn't make sense, unless Yiadom will end up being a make-weight for the McBurnie deal with Swansea.
The concern for me is that on two occasions he pulled out of challenges against Morecambe. I never saw that with any of Hourihane, Bree, Winnall, Scowen & Watkins. It worries me a bit if he's back in the first team this weekend but still wants to leave this month in terms of his commitment, especially in a derby game.
Marley acted with a lot more dignity and respect in my opinion. Yids has handled this quite poorly. I think he's let it all go to his head. He did the same to Barnet. By all means aim to better yourself but it's affected the whole club with all the uncertainty and poor management of it all. Also I find it disappointing that the club have made no official statements, even since the deal has fallen through.
Marley handed a transfer request in didn't he? I admit the interview was poorly advised but he didn't actually say much wrong in it.
Down at the Mac quote... Town owner Dean Hoyle tonight he's doing a fans Q A,.... on Yids Yiadom deal fell through due to medical. He'll be fine longer term but wouldn't be available as cover for Tommy Smith initially. So it wasn't worth the preliminary price we were paying Read more: http://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/106828/dean-hoyle-qna-canalside-thursday?page=2#ixzz4q31w5q8Q
To be honest I can't see him staying now... think unfortunately for ourselves this circumstance leads to him leaving on the cheap somewhere else
