So using that logic, you think that Alcohol should be banned?

Kills 1000's of users and lots of innocent people too ie drink driving. This government makes me laugh, if they cared so much they would just ban smoking all together. They never talk about innocent people inhaling peoples car fumes, trying to get some easy votes.

    Cars are essential

And serve a purpose. Smoking does not.

And your point about drink driving is a little well pointless because the last time I checked it was already illegal.

    "Cars are essential"

Oxygen is essential, water in essential having a piss is essential. Cars are not essential. Cars are killing this planet.

that isn't to say that I dont think it could be improved

I would dearly love this government to get its arse into gear and pump millions into the public transport system because at the moment it is of no use to anyone. Unfortunatly this will never happen because london's transport is pretty good and that is all that Blair and company see/care about

    I like a cigerette with a pint

I am not totally against this smoking in pubs ban, but if they are banning this for peoples health why don't they just ban the sale of cigarettes. They don't give a flying fook about people breathing in car fumes, so why should they be so bothered about smoking in pubs.

RE: Have you seen the non-smokers up Pilley

Is there any wonder it was a no smoker, when the landlord has just come out of throat cancer treatment due to smoking, AND I beg to differ on the empty, it never was a full house but there are just as many now as there used to be, granted they are by and large new people, but some of us still visit regular.

ok then im a painter & decorator and at the moment we are working in loads of barnsley council houses, a while ago i was working in a house in cudworth and the three people who lived there sat in the same room i was working in and smoked all day, so as thats my workplace can i tell them to stop smoking? i doubt it because its their home and they can do what they like.
