I've had another look and I think he may have come on for Brian Jackson, as he missed the next 2 games (a 2-7 defeat (!!??) at Bradford PA and 0-2 home to Chester). Interestingly, it looks like we didn't make any other subs that season and also Barry Murphy only made one other appearance (1-1 home draw with Colchester)
It was great fun listening to the York fans at the other end of the ground and trying to work out what had happened.... A big "Ahhh" and I'd say to my dad "Shot went wide". Big "Ahhh" followed by a round of cheering "They got a corner".
Kevin Hector scored 5 for Park Avenue in that 7-2 defeat, he scored 44 goals that season before Derby bought him the season after.
Might be wrong but did John O'Hare get the other 2 and the late Dick Hewitt score both for Barnsley? I went to the game but obviously it was a long time ago and I would only have been 7
Can't find a match report or list of scorers but I don't think it was O'Hare who scored, I was getting confused. It could have been Bobby Ham. It's an age thing
No it definitely wasn’t O’Hare on the score sheet because he never played for Bradford. European champion with Forest though.
