So you're basically saying that as long as someone says they didn't do it then they can't be found guilty?
In addition to the fact that others have corroborated the fact that he DID say what he was accused of.
In that case...Joey Barton...you're free to go.

I think your bottom line here and all the way through is that you don't want Rafiq's allegations to be believed or acted upon.

The question isn't whether he is a racist. It's whether he made racist comments. He undeniably has in print and in the case of his comment about there being too many of you lot it has been corroborated. I really don't see where your problem is here. I can only assume that you're determined that there isn't a problem at YCCC, that Vaughan etc can never be found guilty of anything because they say they didn't do it and that this is all Rafiq making stuff up.
I'd suggest you have a good look at the balance of opinion on this and see where your stance is putting you.
That's me done on debating this with you I'm afraid.

Nobody has been found guilty of anything. There is no criminal case. I don't understand why people are repeatedly conflating employment decisions with the criminal burden of proof.

As for "they deserve to be heard" - weren't Moxon and Gale literally invited to take part in the hearing before MPs and they chose not to?

The BBC interview was tragic. Dan Walker asked him about the historic tweets (only a few years old) and then said, "But you're not the same person now."

    "No I'm not"

It was pathetic. He's not exactly had a great deal of support either from ex players which is kind of interesting, if only from a popularity point of view.

    Yep.

They have both stated that Michael Vaughan made the "there's too many of you lot, we need to do something about this" comment.

Maybe it's time for you to have a little read and look at facts on the record.

I'm off to get piss wet through in town now.

    You Reds.

Martyn Moxon could have gone before the select committee and stated his case and refuted the allegation made , he chose not to , he’s made no comment at all .

Vaughan comes across as a snidey, arrogant *****. I have no doubt he would have said these words given he's got previous.

According to The Times, Yorkshire CCC parted ways with all those who signed a letter criticising Rafiq’s behaviour while employed at Yorkshire and the club for apologising to Rafiq.

The same story reported that Yorkshire are preparing for the possibility of relegation, with the ECB still yet to make known their final sanction for the club.

Difficult to see there was much option really.

There was an independent report which found evidence of wrongdoing. Whether or not they agreed with it those involved should have done the mature thing and acknowledged there was a possibility they were in the wrong and find a resolution. Instead they dug in and made it an institutional thing by coordinating the letter about Rafiq. Everyone involved in that letter should have really reflected how it would come across and so only really have themselves to blame for being in this position.

There have been loads of opportunities along the way to stop things getting to where they have - instead at every step there's been denial and escalation and the club has essentially lost everything because of it. At the end of the day it doesn't even matter if Rafiq is right or wrong - sensible and grown up leadership would have sorted this out ages ago.

Been out of Cricket for over a decade. Seems a strange choice. Should have tried to get back McGrath.
