If England play ball they could have the England boys for the 1/4's in 50 over match and finals day in the T/20's. Think they could be difficult with Root though. played lots and the back might be a problem
I'm a T20 Season Ticket holder but I don't think I will be taking up their offer of a ticket at Finals day for SIXTY SIX ENGLISH POUNDS!! Free watch on my Sky Sports package through Vodafone (plus we are away to Huddersfield that day as well) Yorkshire Members and T20 Season Ticket holders are now able to purchase tickets for the NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day at Edgbaston on Saturday 20th August. You will need your Membership numbers to hand when purchasing tickets.
A good 12 hours or so at the cricket watching three games all of importance being two semi finals and a final. England players not just for us but Hales for Nottinghamshire also probably available to watch. I reckon that's a fairly reasonable price. Can't think of any other sport for that price you'd be at for morning, afternoon and evening, see so many internationals and watch three games including a final. Not that i'd play the England players anyway.
I agree, it's not bad value for money from that point of view. I just don't think I would be interested in watching Notts V Northants (I've seen them both in the last couple of seasons at Headingley anyway). And, of course, should we get knocked out by Durham in our semi I don't think I would want to watch the final. It's almost a football-like atmosphere at T20s and I imagine it will be even more frenetic at the finals day. Would you want to listen to fans of other teams whooping it up and banging their inflatable cricket bats together all day long? I know I wouldn't. As for the England players, it would be unfair on those lads who have got the team to the finals to then lose their places but you can see the temptation. If you had the choice of Bairstow or Hodd I know who I would back as a matchwinner. Hodd's a decent enough keeper but not in JB's class, obviously.
I would stay loyal to the guys who have toiled match after match to make the finals day although I expect Bairstow and Root to get in but not Ballance. Could make a really good second 11 with the guys who didn't play yesterday for us. If we lose to Durham it would still be a good day out as a neutral having a drink and enjoying the atmosphere. Can pay sixty for 90 minutes of football.
Bairstow is one of the first names on the lineup if he is released to play, but dont underestimate Hodd's wicketkeeping. He's probably the best specialist keeper at the club, trouble is his batting is at a lower order level which lets him down.
