2 goals in 15 games this season.
4 goals in 19 games last season.

You are clutching at straws with minutes played, chances are he’d have been as crap in more minutes than he already has.

The games and minutes he has had would’ve been better used on a Marsh or Jalo to develop them rather than a lost cause like Watters.

A "lost cause" is a completely irretrievable situation. If he'd had a leg amputated or gone blind, I'd agree that his chances of establishing a career as a regular starter for BFC would be slim to none. But having a stop-start first ten months is certainly not a lost cause in my book.

Plenty of players in our recent history have taken a good year to settle in and show us their true abilities.

    I’m clutching at straws? Lol
I’m using a method that measures ALL players fairly you are saying a guy who has played 4 minutes in a game should be judged identically to some who plays 90 by using your method.
It’s very clear which method is skewed.
You’ve also tried to debunk his assists record by picking and choosing which assists should be included.
I’ve shown you with facts not opinions that giving people a chance/time it can work out but again you want to ignore that.
All I’ve ever said is give him a chance and then judge him, which is not right now.

You clearly think he is crap and will always be crap, that is your right.

Can you name another striker for us that started as badly and was given as many games?

There was article recently about how Man City/Pep expect players to take upto a year to ‘adapt’.
If it’s acceptable for such high quality calibre players and set ups, surely it should be the norm.

So, in conclusion you’ve been given facts, and you still think it’s right to write some one off based on that one stat.
I guess Toney must be glad that you weren’t in charge with his 2 in 21 for us(which is much worse).

Comparing Watters to Ivan Toney is like comparing a Fiat Punto to a Lamborghini Huracan, behave now you melt.

For a start Toney was only on loan and was about 19 and couldn’t get in side because we had Fletcher, Winnall and Watkins.

Oh so it’s ok to ignore that Watters was on loan last season and couldn’t get in the side cos of Cole & Norwood?
    Convenient use of facts again.
Did you know Toney was gonna be a £100 million player when he was here?
Did you know Adam Armstrong when here with a record of 38 games & 6 goals would become a PL striker?
Of course you didn’t, is the reality.

oh and BTW I never likened Toney to Watters, again I was given you another factual example of time being given.

Not on loan this season though is he? Big chunk of the budget was spent on him and hasn’t really had anyone else to compete with to play along side Cole.

Armstrong like Toney was a bairn and we didn’t spend a penny on him. Watters is in his mid twenties and chances of him getting any better are getting slimmer game by game. It’s not just his goal return that is poor it’s his overall game too, doesn’t win anything in the air and doesn’t have enough shots on goal. Yeah he’s got 3 assists, but 2 lead to extraordinary goals he didn’t exactly roll ball to them to tap it in; on both occasions he passed the ball to wing backs because he had nothing else he could do without losing the ball.

Now this I can accept as a justified opinion because you are basing it on what you have seen.

Kayode Odejayi scored 4 in 72 for us. That's 1 in 18. He scored 30 for Cheltenham (1 in 5) and 13 (1 in 3) for Forest Green before we signed him. We loaned him out to Scunthorpe (1 in 6) and Colchester (6 in 14). Later he scored 1 in 8 for Rotherham and 1 in 4 for Accrington.

Strikers can be more or less prolific at different times in their careers. Sometimes the other players are better at setting them up or the tactics play to their strengths. Other times it doesn't work out.

Watters has a job in the team. If he wasn't doing what Collins wanted him to, he wouldn't keep being played.

I'm laughing at this, providing detail and context isn't "clutching at straws."

    Hilarious.

Making excuses for a player being w@nk is pretty much clutching at straws.

Still cant see what watters offers

Cosgrove is a big lump like Tedic

    Cole is a poacher

    Norwood was aggressive & combative

I couldn't tell you what Watters is

For the record, at no time have I offered an opinion on the player just your 6 in 38 justification stat and IMO he hasn’t been here long enough.

Said from post 1 stats can be used to fit an agenda and gave you examples of stats that look good and examples of where players who didn’t perform but over time did.
