RE: What on earth are you on about?

    You said

    > I think you'll find most people think he's a great player.

Thats other people opinions you are using to back up your argument.

Do you want to back out of this while you still have a modicum of dignity?

I state that it is my opinion that I would not have him playing for Yorkshire right now for all the above reasons I have given.

You state that he's a great batsmen and loads of other people think he's great too.

You must knock em dead when you get in front of that old typewriter.

    Career stats

    http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/pakistan/content/player/40570.html

Test average of 50 and you don't rate him?

Stats speak for themselves in some cases - like this.

I take your point to an extent about if he'll fancy it in English weather etc, but he's still trying to keep his place in the Pakistan side so I'd imagine he'll be trying his best.

I've taken the mick in the past because of his running between wickets as much as most, but he's still world class.

See my post below - stats back up my argument

I think you'll find most people think it's you who's losing any dignity - as the other posts suggest.

I would think a national sports writing award judged by top journalists would suggest I can write.

How can he be world class?

The whole world don't play cricket.
That's like saying I'm a world class sweeper of my own drive.

And don't say "in the world of cricket" - you Non-Journo Joey.

RE: See my post below - stats back up my argument

Stats, schmats, I am a statistician, I can tell you what stats mean. Stats mean that they will not tell you how Inzamam ul Haq will perform for Yorkshire at the back end of a season in cold weather with Goughie for your captain with county pitches and bowlers who want to make a name for themselves by getting out the great Inzi. He'll be getting nicely paid to trudge back to the pavilion, if I am wrong then I will be back on here to make a fulsome apology, would you make that same offer?

I would suggest that on the evidence of what you write on here that you are not even the best writer on a cack BBS in Barnsley.

Any award judged by journalists, top of their profession or not, is not worth the plastic it was made of.

dont think journo is saying that inzi will definitely rack up the runs,as no one knows that for sure, just that inzi's stats would suggest he his more than capable of bieng a good signing for yorkshire and scoring some runs, time will tell.

    Your initial post

Was 'I don't rate him'... that was what I was responding to at first. As I said in a previous post, I can understand your point that he migth not be up for it - funny how it was posted after he got out for 8, rather than when he initially signed when there was a thread about him.

I, like 99% of others on here, do not post as I would normally write.

You have no basis whatsoever to judge anyone's true writing skills on this board.

    Now 348 - 5

Listening to it online on some Warwickshire radio station. Their commentators have lost interest somewhat :)

My initial point was simply that I rate him.

    RE: Your initial post

'I', that is, myself, do not rate him. I haven't rated him since the last England tour of Pakistan.

If he had got a century in this game, I still would not rate him, as it was, he got 8, so, I'm laughing my socks off, except, as a Yorkshire supporter I'm also worried about the fact that we're carrying a big fat waste of money.

I have seen some of your Journalistic work, a couple of years ago, I believe it was as they say, gash.
