To be fair I wouldn't advocate wiping out a country anyway - my response earlier was tongue in cheek. But to kill humans because of animal rights abuses should be way down the list. I think we'd have wiped out most countries with poor human rights records i.e. China, Turkey, USA, Iran, Russia etc. before we got around to punishing people for abusing animal rights.

 

That depends what your priorites are. I would wipe China out for both human & animal rights abuses.

My priorities would be human rights above animal rights. I love animals but I think it's wrong that people give more money to animal welfare charities than to human welfare chairites.

If you combine the two and it points to one country then fair enough. On all counts it points to USA for me.

 

Just didn't get the analogy at all. I thought you meant that the Manor estate was populated by Jews who stole their houses from the local population and then supressed them with American and British made weaponry. No need to thank me for explaining my own slanted point of view.

Is there any proof that more is given to animal charities? I didn't know that.
Personally, i give to one childrens charity and 2 animal charities. I also donate food to the RSPCA when i can. That is my choice. I feel better taking the food to the animal centres as i know my money is well spent then but as for donating to human rights charities i am abit sceptical about how much of my donation would reach the source

 

The stats were on a documentary I watched - can't remember the figures so can't really quote them but it was surprising. Also suprised to hear that Alzheimer's research gets 3% of the funding that cancer research gets.

It is down to personal choice. And I do sometimes give to animal charities (although not as much).

 

That's okay, I wasn't going to thank you. If I'd wanted to make a serious analogy between the Middle East and the Manor Estate I would have done so in the middle of a serious thread concerning the subject and not one which was in truth quite silly from the outset. My mistake.
