My best one was Wembley 2000, went down for four days and watched the Division Three and Two play-offs in pubs doen there first building up to the big one. Great day out despite the result. Champagne on way home as one woman brought the good stuff in case we won.

But - you make a good case mate with Plymouth. Pete crashed in our room! Good to have half hour in all the boozers on the Saturday before being moved on from each for singing. Then catching up with the players on The Hoe. Taking over the pub with flags etc..glad I got it all on camera!

Quite toical for this weekend - I was at this game and i t was an absolute cracker - sawa great hattrick from a superb player but then to equalise in stoppage time was amazing.

then got wrecked around Bognor on Staurady night!

"Last Time: Portsmouth 4 Barnsley 4 (Division One - 02/02/2002)

A crazy game at Fratton Park began with Robert Prosinecki scoring a penalty after Courtney Pitt had been hacked in the box early on but Chris Lumsdon equalised with a curling effort that beat Dave Beasant.

Linvoy Primus then headed Pompey back into the lead before the break but surrendered it again two minutes after half-time as Chris Barker levelled the score.

But on the hour mark Prosinecki again gave Pompey the advantage with a superb solo goal and then capped his hat-trick with a free kick eight minutes later.

However, the celebrations were turned sour as Lumsdon scored from the spot and then Primus was dubiously sent off for a so-called "punch" on Mike Sheron who would then go on to score a stoppage time equaliser.

Now that's made me think of our two games against them in the 89/90 seasons when we did the double. We were the only team to do the double against them, they got promoted to the old Division 1 that season. I couldn't wait to get to school after we had beat them at home, but when we won 2-1 away on the Tuesday night i ran all the way to school to gloat. Crofton High was full of so called Leeds fans but i could never fathom out how they could be such staunch Leeds fans when they never went to games.
Hey Hicksy, David Batty who lived near you in Crofton said you used to be a Leeds fan at school and even owned a Sergeant Wilko's Barmy Hat, is this rumour true??

Had some great one's but 2 that spring to mind are Tranmere away 95/96 season 3-1 win to us Payton 2 & Redders pen, followed by a heavy night out in Southport and even heavier sunday day session before heading back home and Luton away same season, 8 of us had friday off work and spent the day/night in Cambridge, student baiting, before heading down to luton saturday morning. We won 3-1 again, Redders with 2 and Brenden O'Connell I think, relegating David Pleats Luton in the process. I remember that Blackpool looked as though they were going to get promoted from div 2 (didn't happen in the end) and all the Barnsley fan were gloating in full voice "we're gonna blackpool, we're gonna blackpool. Your Not".

    happy days!!!

Brentford away 2002/3 season. Went down on Thursday, saw Jerry Cantrell at the Astoria, met some mates Friday, went to the game on the Satdi and went out with some Uni mates on the Satdi night. Only downside was we went into admin on the Friday morning.
