Been to plenty over the years but I think the most enjoyable were stalybridge and Salford. Both friendlies but drinking pre match and watching the game with their fans and talking about football was nice and refreshing against the usual segregation.

Southampton FA cup. Fantastic, backs to the wall 2-1 win. Long journey home though

I’d like to think the majority of our fans are nothing like theirs. Because on the several occasions I have come across their fans they have been absolute pondlife - including the women.

I've always enjoyed our away games at Liverpool and York City, too.

Rochdale away hundreds of years ago in the FA cup. My memory is hazy, but we won 3-1, in a blizzard with an orange ball. I think they scored first, then big Winnie (RIP) equalised. Can't remember who put us ahead (possibly Winnie again?) but Jimmy Seal scored a 3rd with a supersonic missile like blast from 225 yards. The keeper got his hands to it, but such was the power that both his hands snapped off. Our fans were c0ck-a-hoop because they took over "their end" in the second half.

On the way back to the station we got bombarded with snowballs by their fans, but just when the battle threatened to get out of hand we got interrupted by a mini sliding down the road on its roof, with a bloke inside hanging upside down. We had to scramble out of the way to avoid being mown down. The car eventually came to rest against a wall and the bloke got out, not a scratch. Well, not on him, a quite different story for the car.

A superb FA cup day out.

Accrington has been the best experience. Extraordinary how they look after away fans.

Fulham is a joy to visit for lots of reasons, and we’ve done well there.

Most memorable was the year we beat L**ds 2–0 at Bellend Road. End of season game, we were in the relegation fight, they only needed to beat ‘Teams like Barnsley’ to get promoted. Unlucky lads.

Quite a walk back to Gary Sefton’s mini bus, but we didn’t give a **** after ruining their party. They took it out on the good citizens of Bournemouth a week later. Odious lot.

    Was at that one.

Liverpool away 1982, 0-0 vs European Cup winners, or 1-0 win in the Prem with Lars Leese, the keeper of dreams in goal. I was sat in the Kop for that with Liverpool muso's & well looked after.

    Liverpool, Never lose at Anfield
Cup game when Howard scored the last minute winner was quality

Ive always liked the smaller away games like Cheltenham and Forest Green last season - Yeovil and Torquay in the past.
Millwall good though as you can do the Bermondsey Beer mile before and after the game
