Billy Connolly for me

An audience with Billy Connolly is one of the funniest shows ever IMO.

Also like Chubby Brown. Toying with the idea of seeing him this Thursday just across the road from where i'm currently staying or the week.

Went to see Frankie Boyle last night in Buxton

Very funny, warmup act (Martin Bigpig) was good as well.
If you watch Mock the Week though, you will have seen 60-70% of his act....

Best I've seen Live is Paul Merton

Many years ago before he was famous he did a set at a New Years eve show I was at in London

There had been a couple of other standups on who were rubbish (cant remember them) and we were about to head for the bar when this young guy came on and had the entire audience in stitches He was so good I remembered his name and thought he ought to make it

Year before (or after) an unknown called Rory Bremner did a set at the same gig - shame its not still going

Others that are really good live Jack Dee and Arthur Smith

Ones I wish I had seen live - Frankie Howerd and the undisputed (in my mind anyway) master ....Dave Allen

Or with wise cracks like that possibly myself. But seriously some australian guy, think he might be called jim jefferies always makes me laugh. I love anything Ricky Gervais does although his stand up is far from his best work.

    Once saw Spike live

He was fantastic, came back for an encore and just sat on the edge of the stage with the curtains closed behind him and talked for over an hour. My sides ached for days.
