Barnard's would be the best but obviously that accolade falls to Bobby Hassell's effort against Newcastle a couple of years ago. Big Trev wins it for me though as he scored from well outside the stadium.

Hassell's header was only from the Metrodome. Aylott's lob was from the Bush Inn.

But Macca`s header that night against Brighton was travelling at 275mph as measured by my over active imagination!!!!

That's still the hardest header I've ever seen (to score a goal). Well, apart from the header that Macca also did about the same time that knocked the linesman out. Anyone remember that?

    York in the fog

It was a beautiful sunny day when we left home but York was shrouded in fog. You could only see the odd ghostly shape on the halfway line for almost the entire 2nd half. Luckily for us the goal (scored by Derek Bell) was at our end. The rest of the match was taken up with a massive game of "guess what's happened by the reaction of the crowd at the other end".

    Sheer magic.

Your first 4 are the one's I think about too. Probably joined by the prem defeat at Highbury, which was just a special weekend for me. Sheffield U away in 96 would also challenge it...

Just to clarify big Trev's lob. The actual lob was from the Bush Inn as you say, but he started his run from the Dog and Partridge, beating 843 defenders before executing the chip.
