To fit in this current side tomorrow? John Stones. As great as Glavin was, the no shows were as common as the virtuoso. Some forget that.
Mick Butler - he'd score against anyone, let alone one of his former clubs. And if I can cheat a bit, I'd have Ronnie Glavin as well, to come off the bench in the last two minutes to win it like he did at Hillsborough.
Tommy Taylor - Barnsley lad and arguably one of the best strikers to have graced the English game. His goal scoring record for England (16 goals in 19 games) was phenomenal and he scored 26 goals in his 44 Barnsley appearances. His record for Manchester United was 2 goals in every 3 games. He was good in the air and on the ground. He would torment the Town defence and goals win matches and we need 3 points today.
For me, it's got to be Hignett. Play up front or in midfield, will get goals. Will take two to mark him and leave other players free.
Stick to painting, 'cos tha knows bugger all about football and to come out with that crap shows your memory is as trustworthy as a LibDem pre election manifesto pledge!
Arjan De Zeeuw We're in dire need of a commanding centre half and I reckon De Zeeuw would at least stop us getting beat. Up to Daggers and O'Grady then to get the job done
err no they weren't, he had occasional bad games like anybody else but the opposition were so **** scared of him that he was effective even then
The man who would see us through today is without a doubt ..... Mick McCarthy, Barnsley Born, Barnsley Legend, Barnsley Fan. The rock at the heart of our defence we have been short of since Darren Moore left. Commanding and Inspiring, Hudders would not score today. He could even pitch up with the winner.
Re: The man who would see us through today is without a doubt ..... stevie cooper hard as nails and could leap like a salmon
Glavin or Currie for me. In a nervy game, either would be capable of a defining moment of genius. Surprised Currie not been mentioned yet. #legends
