To be fair a lot of people have probably changed their circumstances since then. Makes sense to me not to use it.
Someone visits my work every week, and asks me the same question every week. 'when are we reopening to the public?', and every week I give the same answer, 'when the government allows us to'.
I work in the HE sector and universities have had similar experiences. I know one got a call on Friday afternoon and were told that in 24 hours time they need to have a full plan on how they were going to test all students so they could return for Christmas.
I also thought that it would be better waiting until we know what day we are playing on, I know this doesn't give a lot of time for planning, but some people might not be able to attend anyway if it's a Monday night at 6pm/8.15 - likewise some people might be unavailable if it's the Saturday at 12.30 / 5.30. The actual date might be a bit clearer by this Saturday night!
