Adam Oxley @adam3oxley 14m14 minutes ago DS said any team would miss a player like Kieffer Moore; important player and personality for the team. Moore may not be back next weekend. DS hoping he can play “maybe in a couple of weeks”, needs more time to recover from head injury. #BarnsleyFC @footballheaven
They don't seem to like to be open about injuries do they. Suppose it's more for opponents to be unsure than anything else. Its a huge blow to lose our top scorer and his replacement has not even scored a league goal for us.
Definitely more then meets the eye with this injury. Wish they’d be more open about it for the fans but can understand why they wouldn’t.
Why definitely? There's no mystery about Moore's injury at all. He suffered concussion, and needs to be well enough to eventually play. Which might take a while.

The club do have form with this sort of thing. They denied Woodrow had injured himself during his medical and then said for the next 2 months that he would be back in 2 weeks. This time they have cited the 2 week concussion protocol for Moore and hey presto there's now talk that he'll still be unavailable at week 3.
You've not seen anywhere anything (apart from one post on here) that he was subject to the usual head injury protocol. If it was more serious than that, the 2 week protocol would not apply.
The usual terrace banter today around me is that it is more serious and could be out for the season...I have no idea....hope it's sooner....very sooner!
With respect, there is not an easy comparison to be made between a leg injury and a head injury. Plus your story about a perpetual two weeks is more of a legend on here, rather than the club's actual information. What is verifiable is that a serious head injury requires a period of rest. And review. And is not something to be tarried with.
I Well it might do. With a head injury it's not quite as simple to determine when a player might be able to play again. The farce was with Woodrow's problem. Not Moore's.
The interesting thing about the two weeks thing from the very beginning is that from what I can find no such thing exists. I can find guidelines for a standard player of a minimum 14 days rest followed by 5 days progressive training up to playing (19 days) or 24 hours rest followed by 5 days progressive training up to playing (6 days) which are for players in an advanced care setting such as professional clubs, international teams and academies. For us to be saying fa guidelines dictate a minimum 2 weeks rest that must actually be the 19 day programme which would in turn mean we do not meet advanced care setting criteria under the FA's graduated return to play guidelines for a player suffering concussion
One might find that there is a different protocol for something more than concussion. And one might also find that once so diagnosed, that there would be nothing but heaps of ***** loaded upon the club that weren't prepared to tell their own supporters the truth.
