Because then we'd find out just who were wearing police uniforms at that time. ie not policemen Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No surprise really. Amber Rudd has a history of voting against the working classes. Voted against benefits raising in one's with inflation. Voted against better benefits for the disabled. Voted for stripping councils of government cash and forcing them to fund benefits themselves Voted for the bedroom tax Voted against using government money to get young people into work Voted against increasing the tax rate for those presenting £150,000 or more Voted against the mansion tax Voted for allowing employers to remove employees working rights in return for shares Voted to reduce capital gains and tax Voted against big multi national companies having to produce information on their tax planning and avoidance. Voted against introduction of measures to reduce tax avoidance Voted to reduce corporation tax Voted to raise tuition fees Voted to end benefits for those in education or training from 16 up. Voted to sell off woodland and forests to private millionaire owners Be under no doubt that this woman is a very dangerous person who appears to be on a crusade against the lower classes. The fact that she has decided to protect the Tory government at the expense of the lower classes should come as no surprise
well a pettion needs starting to change this decision It may take a while, but so did the Hillsborough case too. They surely cannot hide behind the politicians if the will of the public is great enough. Also I would be at all surprised if an enquiry was done that it would reveal Police/Govt infiltrators among the Miners.
Just heard Tebbit on the radio. To paraphrase: Miners behaved appallingly. Police on the whole acted well. Why should we waste money on rich lawyers stringing out an enquiry month after month? So much for Justice. I swore at the radio. He is a miopic scum bag in my opinion.
Too fekin right, He's just been on BBC 1news saying the tv cameras showed what happened, I was there that day, and believe me the tv footage only shows a fraction of what happened that day. I'm not at all surprised by today's decision, but I'm still angry about it and people (posters on here included) wonder why many on here and in our communities hate the feking Tories.
Tory scum will never hold an independent/fair inquiry over the strike...and let their ludicrous Thatcher myth be exposed.
The BBC footage of the events that day has been widely discredited. http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/miners-strike-30-years-foi-documents-reveal-bbc-misgivings-about-its-coverage/
It just tells you everything, dunt it, these fcuing Conservatives are still protecting Thatcher from all the wrongs that ******* did, the Police commissioner for South Yorkshire Dr Alan Billings and South Yorkshires chief constable wanted this inquiry. Did anyone listen to that red parrot with the blue tail Dan Jarvis in parliment after Rudd had come out with her verdict, well I did and was disgusted, when called by the speaker to address Rudd all he said was " can the Home Secretary meet with the Orgreaves truth and justice organisation to explane your verdict" Rudds reply" I have just met with them". Ho dear, as an ex miner and a Orgreaves vet he's let the colliers of Barnsley down big time. Boils down to an Establishment whitewash and a cover up of the Thatcher government.
I suspect that's why the Carry On enquiry in to child sex abuse is being dragged out. The enquiry is on its fourth chairman in 2 years. Some skeletons in powerful cupboards I wouldn't mind betting.
Aww it must be love you have clearly been following her every move Even by Tory Standards she is a horrid piece of work but as everyone else on here says -no surprise at all. Only way there will be an enquiry is under a Labour or Lib Dem government which unfortunately I cant see happening any time soon
Absolute Disgrace Ok so nobody died and nobody was convicted but that is not a reason to allow SY Police off the hook. Hillsbrough could be seen as a direct result of Orgreave, they got away with it then and did the same again, ie cover ups, false statements etc. Any democratic country with a police force accountable to parliament should take appropriate action to restore faith in the police and punish those who sought to pervert the course of justice. Just common sense. I think that this new unelected government has taken one or two decisive steps towards the right (Grammar Schools etc) and closed ranks with the establishment. I don't think we would have got the Hillsbrough inquiry with this lot. Cameron has a lot to answer for with his European gamble.
Re: Absolute Disgrace Seems like you don't need any sort of inquiry to come up with any conclusions. The whole thing would be a waste of time and money. Why blame the government now, when there have been labour governments since the 80s who never took any real action? Plus if you want to punish people, let the criminal justice system do that. Although how you get better justice 30+ years on I do not know.
