In an advanced midfield role all that's required (more often than not) is to pass the ball sideways or backwards?!! Seriously?!

Luck's saved us? I've often thought you have no idea what you watch & this backs it up.

We recently drew with Bristol in a game where Winnall was elbowed & stamped on & no red card was given.

We recently drew with Burton in a game where Winnall was blatantly stamped on & the player was retrospectively banned for several games.

If we had 'luck' we would've been playing against 10 men for a long period in both of them games & 4 points better off.

Have some faith Phil, we are capable of going to Brum and Wednesday and getting points. Our team is young and developing so although it's unfortunate we're going to get freak performances like last night. Hecky will sort it.

Don't, for the love of god, tell him the team is young. He'll be coming back in a min to tell us how young newcastle's side is or summat. Personally I'd have taken 4th bottom at start of season and would take it now. It is dissapointing how well we started but I expected nothing else. I just hope that we don't let this square ball nonsense back in

    * It's not the young players. Roberts 26 year old. Hammill 28 year old. We aren't talking about Bree here. He makes a mistake he learns quickly and gets on with it.

*It's not a freak result. We haven't won in three month at oakwell. We've been awful in a lot of games. Reading, Fulham, second half Burton, Brighton.

Definitely. We must go back to doing what we're good at and I think Hecky saw the problems last night too. He is making mistakes with the team and tactics but he knows a lot more than me so I'll let him do his job. I'm not overly worried, yet.

Roberts has no experience at this level, none whatsoever. He was playing non league football a couple of years ago so give him time to continue developing - I have no doubt he is more than capable at this level.

Our whole back four have no experience at this level. They need an experienced centre half to help school them.

Mario it's the basic's. The very basic's what he should have learnt. Now I know he didn't come through an academy which is a massive disadvantage to him but he's got to be able to pass the ball. The big boot seems to be the only thing he's got on the ball. I've just had a look. People love to slate England on here so I thought i'd look at a current England International. Chris Smailling. He went from Non League, to Manchester United via Fulham. He played 13 league games for Fulham. Do MU fans say well it's okay because he's come from non league. They'll not do it and we on a far lesser level can't either.

I can go on with many players. Dwight Gayle another one. If he can't cope infront of 13k. How would he cope infront of 52k?

I'm the biggest fans of players devloping, but they have to be good enough. You need to build on solid ground. I'm thinking it's sand we are building on with some.

*this isn't ust MR, it's all three of them.

Will Bree be learning from the positional mistakes that cost us 2 goals last night.

I agree we should nip out spend 30 million quid on Smalling and another 15 million on Dwight Gayle.

People giving the ball away you mean. He'll expect players to be able to keep it and pass the ball simple. He wants to get forward.

It was a one-off game where EVERYBODY in the side made bad mistakes. Your mate Bree made some absolute howlers. Forest exploited most of the mistakes, which doesn't normally happen. A bloke had a rush of blood and got himself sent off, another one had a rush of blood and gave away a penalty. It couldn't possibly have been worse.

The person next to me last night summed it up. She said "I'd rather get all these mistakes and goals against out of the way in one match, rather than spreading them out over 4 or 5 matches". What wise words!

Just sit back and imagine what Mark Roberts would think if he read your words? How would that help him? You just sit there insulting a Barnsley lad who's trying his best, never gives up and apart from last night is one of our best players. What are you trying to achieve with your constant insults on here? what's your ultimate aim?

We lost. Badly. It happens. It will happen again. It's a football match. Stop using it as an excuse to slag off your usual targets.

So it's alright for Bree to make mistakes and learn but nobody else ?

When we do well it's just luck on Roberts' et al part, when we do poorly it's all their fault.
